Hi! I’m Jake, a film editor based in the Los Angeles. I'm originally from Michigan and graduated from Academy of Art University in San Francisco with a degree in Motion Picture and Television.

I find editing to be an extremely fun task. Beyond standard media/narrative/continuity editing; I enjoy time spent managing media, transcoding, filing, assisting, etc. On nearly every project I’ve worked on, I was also responsible for audio mixing, music, and color correction. 

In the scope of student/school projects; I have significant experience collaborating with directors, editing teams, and clients all of which were conducted on very short timelines. I’ve also spent great amounts of time on set as both a DIT and as a production consultant. Additionally, I have quite a bit of experience directing, assistant directing, and producing too. I am no stranger to working on sets, and even being heavily involved in pre-production.

Outside of filmmaking, my main hobby is music production and DJing. Ive performed at / hosted several underground music events in Detroit and San Francisco. I was a resident DJ with the Detroit Art Collective, and have had the opportunity to perform at bars around the Bay Area, including downtown San Francisco. I’m also pretty into gaming in my free-time, enjoying both narrative style games and competitive.
